A CYPRIOT who will not forget his roots, actor and political activist George Eugeniou is directing his own three short plays at his theatre, Theatro Technis in Camden Town, next week, challenging the partition of the island which is now partly under Turkish rule.
Remarkably, George is still running Theatro Technis at 86. He set it up 60 years ago. Initially, it was subsidised by the council but nearly 30 years ago he clashed with them over his right to fly the Cypriot flag from the building in Crowndale Road and set up his own community theatre after the Town Hall withdrew financial support.
Cyprus Trilogy runs from November 7-11. Tickets on 020 7387 6617.
