A 19-YEAR-OLD has been found guilty of murdering a man near Mornington Crescent.
Erick Ekam, from Kentish Town, admitted stabbing Mohammed Aadam Mohammed to death in Hampstead Road but said it was in self-defence.
However, on Wednesday a jury at the Old Bailey found him guilty of murder after a two week-long trial.
He was also found guilty of two counts of possessing a bladed article, including on the day of the attack in September last year and in another incident three months earlier.
A pathologist found Mr Mohammed, 20, was stabbed in the arm, neck and back.
The blows were so ferocious that the tip of the eight-inch blade snapped off and lodged in Mr Mohammed’s arm.
After the attack, an undercover police officer who witnessed the incident chased Ekam down and arrested him in the street.
The teenager then made no comment in his police interviews. A trial earlier this year was aborted.
Ekam will be sentenced at the same court tomorrow (Friday).
