Police probe after man falls from window and dies ‘while trying to escape attackers’
Officers find injured man after being called to "reports of people forcing entry to a flat"
Police investigating reports of a group attempting to force their way into a flat last night found the body of a man who had “fallen from a height” and suffered fatal injuries.
Officers found the 49-year-old victim on the ground outside Denyer House at around 9pm. He was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly before midnight.
The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command have been informed of the death.
Neighbours reported hearing a disturbance and it is believed the victim may have fallen while trying to escape. It is believed he fell from a third-floor window.
Police were initially called to “reports of people forcing entry to a flat” in the six-storey block in Highgate Road.
They established that a “disturbance” had taken place and then discovered the man lying on the ground suffering serious injuries.
No arrests have been made and officers remain at the scene.
