Was our street festival north London’s largest?

The doughnut-eating competition, all part of the fun at the ‘Parliament Hill Party’

• WAS the “Parliament Hill Party” street festival north London’s largest?

Thanks for your excellent coverage of some of the Lissenden Gardens events that were part of last Sunday’s amazing Parliament Hill Party.

The street party was inspired by Jessica Jacobs, Emily O’Mara and Constantine Buhayer who wanted to mark, respectively, the 50th, 40th and 30th anniversaries of St Anargyre Church, Heathview Tenants’ Co-operative and Mortimer Terrace Nature Reserve.

Jessica and Emily came up with the idea of involving all of the nearby streets, and buildings such as Haddo House and, as organisers of the Lissenden Gardens annual summer festival, we were more than happy to join in.

It wouldn’t have happened without Jessica, Emily, Constantine, and many more; or without the flawless support of Camden Council.

Some people have suggested that the Parliament Hill Party was north London’s largest street party. York Rise and Lady Margaret Road, how are you going to up your game?
