Watch out, the High Street seagulls are missing their kebab and chips dinners

Baby ducks pinched from waters

RESTLESS seagulls have begun dive bombing for food around the canals of Camden Town, even stealing baby ducks.

Photographer Simon Lamrock snapped one of the birds flying off with a baby coot from the Regent’s Canal last week. As the New Journal reported last year, gulls normally associated with stealing chips in seaside towns, had gathered around the High Street to feast on left over takeaways.

With most outlets shut, they have had to change tactics and have been seen flying down into gardens and the canalside.

Meanwhile, regulars on the towpath have noticed a family of geese has been reduced from five goslings to just one in the past fortnight, although it is not known if this is due to seagull attacks.

Camden Council said it had not received any complaints about seagulls but is running an emergency pest control service during lockdown.
