Very few players seem to know how to take penalties

• FOLLOWING yet another failure to capitalise on penalties by England in the Euro final against Italy, now seems the time to reprint your article, (Why penalty kicking needs to be spot on, June 8, 2006).

The famous subject of Richard Adamson’s book – Bogota Bandit, The Outlaw Life of Charlie Mitten: Manchester United’s Penalty King – provided a vitally important “situation report” about how to achieve success in this particular soccer skill.

The content is certainly as relevant now as it has ever been. When we will ever learn?
